Who we are
Slough Removals operates this website and is the data controller for the personal information described below. Our contact details are on the contact page.
What we collect and why
When you complete the quote form we collect your name, telephone number, email address, the pickup and delivery addresses, your intended moving date if you supply one, and whatever you write in the notes. It is collected to answer your enquiry, arrange a survey and prepare a quotation.
If you email or call instead, we hold whatever you choose to tell us for the same purpose. The site also records anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics — pages viewed, approximate location, device type. That is aggregate measurement and does not identify you.
Our lawful basis
For enquiries and quotations we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Once you book, we rely on performing that contract. For analytics we rely on our legitimate interest in seeing how the site is used, weighed against the fact that the data is aggregated.
Who else sees it
Your enquiry goes to our own lead-handling system so the right person answers it. Beyond that it is shared only where the job requires it: with a storage operator if goods are being held, with a customs agent and carrier if you are moving abroad, and with our insurers if a claim arises.
The form uses Google reCAPTCHA to separate people from automated submissions, so Google receives technical information about your interaction with it. We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to other removals firms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while there is a realistic prospect of the move happening, then deleted. Records of completed jobs are kept as long as we need them for accounting, insurance and legal purposes, and no longer.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will deal with it. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA set their own, and you can block them in your browser without breaking anything here except the form's spam protection.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page. It applies to this site and to enquiries made through it.
